Oi Oi Oi!

Totally stoked you are here.

Lets get one thing clear right up front. We do not know were the name “Fuzigish” came from and we do not know what it means. We not even sure why we spell it like we do, cause we pronounce it “Fuzzy Gish”, but spell it Fuzigish. Makes little sense, but then we did not start a band to be logical.

As to the origins of the name, well we can only guess. Our guess is that it came up after trying countless other silly names, and for some reason this was the silliest one that stuck and we happy with it. What it means? Well there have been a few guesses:

1.) It is a piercing that some ladies have and some ladies do not have. That is all we saying.
2.) It is an adjective. It describes our music and our sound.
3.) It a strange fungus that is found under hamster’s armpits.
4.) Email Us your own meaning/defintion. Do it now!

Yes, the Smashing Pumpkins do have an album called “Gish“, and no, we are not huge fans of the Pumpkins, but we all know that one song that goes “la la la la” and the dude is singing about the 70’s, and its all trippy and stuff.

Ok so we cleared all that up.

Moving on…

Fuzigish is a  band that has been around since 1997, and has officially released 4 full length albums to date. Alot of people (and ourselves) would say we play a sorta punk/ska hybrid, and we cool with that, but there is more going down here. As a wisened journalist once described us:

“Over the years their sound has moved from the strident punk rock of the early years to a more reggae infused ska sound, then absorbing a bit of rockabilly and some thrash and now progressing onto a sound that is totally and utterly uniquely Fuzigish. A party band of legendary proportions, their live shows tend to include unpredictable elements like on-stage haircuts, beer funnels, speeches, casual stage visits from the audience and anything else they can dream up ahead of a show.”

That sounds pretty good to us. Well take it!

Finally, listen up, we will end this ridiculous front page waffle that nobody will ever read by making the following sweeping statement:

“We are not looking for a title or genre to fit neatly into, but what the hell, here goes it. Our style is DIY-post-steetpunk-swingabilly-death-skank-partycore, cause that sounds crazy mad! It is also always cool to have the words “post”, “-abilly” and “core” in your genre description. Specially with the scene geeks!”

I hope that clears up any misconceptions.

May the Fuz be with you.
